Job Description: Senior Automation Specialist
As a Senior Automation Specialist, your designs and concepts will be made a reality. From project kick-off, working alone on small projects or part of a team on large projects, you will be involved in component selection, design, drafting, programming (PLC & HMI), testing and commissioning! The opportunity to take a project through all life cycles of the project is something our Automation Specialists pride themselves on.
The machines we work on range from small special purpose assembly machines to large converting machines, no two projects are ever the same. We operate in a fast-paced, high empowerment workplace so self-motivated individuals looking for a challenge, this is for you. Knowledge of advanced motion control is required.
Essential Skills & Experience
Well qualified candidates will have:
- PLC, Servo & HMI programming
- Proficient at programming motion in Allen-Bradley PLCs
- Proficient with updating and programming HMI programs
- Strong background in manufacturing with integrators or OEMs is an asset
- Well qualified candidates will have large drives and CAMmed motion experience
- Experience with AutoCAD and a strong ability to read 3rd party schematics is required
- Proficient with SolidWorks Electrical or AutoCad Electrical
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work alone or in groups
- Ability to work remotely while maintaining efficiency and quality of work
- Ability to Travel to US up to 2 weeks at a time
- Located within 45 minutes of our office (Brantford, Ontario)
Experience Required
- 6+ Years North American Electrical/ Controls Experience
Education
- Degree or Diploma in Electrical or Controls Engineering

- Walk up to 5 km per day
- Lift up to 50 lbs
- Stand and work at heights (training will be provided if required)
- Work in confined spaces (training will be provided if required)
- React quickly to sounds
- Wear protective gear, including safety shoes, glasses, vests, and masks as required
